BARC/PARC 2009 FD Results

The BARC/PARC 2009 FD was lots of fun and a great success. Although there are always things we can do better, things really came together thanks to the efforts of Chris KB1PVQ, Mark N1ZPO, Paul W1NP, Paul WA1JSE and many others. Our info has already been submitted to the ARRL and we should do very well in the overall standings. The summary of our FD is included below.

Field Day 2009

Field Day 2009

Field Day 2009 is June 27-28 with setup on the 26.
This year BARC and the Pilgrim Amateur Radio Club will be holding a joint event at BSA Camp Greenough in Yarmouthport. Signs will be posted to direct you to the Field Day site location. The camp will be in session and you must drive slow! You may be stopped and question by camp staff as to why you are in camp, just tell them you are participating in the radio Field Day.

Public Welcome:
The public is welcome to attend this event between 2:30pm - sunset Saturday and 10:00am - 2:00pm Sunday You will be given an opportunity to operate a HF radio and contact other stations throughout the country.

Club Member Dinner:
There will be potluck dinner for ALL club members Saturday evening at 6:00pm. Please bring a side dish or desert. Hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages will be provided.

Operators Needed!
We always need operators at Field Day, especially the over night hours. Please contact Rob Leiden, K1UI if there is a specific time you can operate. He will set up a tentative schedule for operators and times for the event. There will be a signup sheet for operators and times also in the tent. K1UI will be the call sign used for the event. Setup will begin at 10:00am on Friday June 26 and into that evening and will continue into Saturday morning. The ARRL contest will start at 2:00pm Saturday afternoon and end at 2:00pm Sunday afternoon. Shelters and restrooms will be provided. Antennas will be erected for 80M, 40M, 20M, 15M, 10M, 6M and 2M. Slow scan TV and other digital modes will also be used. Radios, power supplies and tuners will be provided for these bands. However, If you plan to operate and feel more comfortable using your own radio, you may bring one along with a keyer or mic..

You can attend if you don't want to operate:
If you do not want to operate you are welcome to attend as well. We will have a sign up sheet for attendees as well as pictures taken. If you take pictures you can send them to Rob Leiden who will compile them for distribution.

Directions to Camp Greenough:
Route 6 (Mid-Cape Hwy) to Exit #8 - North onto Union Street toward Yarmouth Port - bear left onto White Rock Road - turn left at second cross road onto Pine Street. Camp Greenough will be on your right immediately after crossing the railroad tracks.

June Meeting changed to 1700 on Monday 6/8

The June meeting has been changed to 1700 on June 8 at the same location, the Red Cross Chapter House in Hyannis. The speaker will be our ARRL Affiliated Club Coordinator,Bo Budinger, WA1QYM and the topic will be "Growing Your Local Club".
