2017 Cranberry Festival Results

Well, the numbers are in for the Cranberry Festival

We did not expect to make that many over the weekend but the band was good and we had a steady flow of contacts.
A big thank you to all that participated it was a long weekend.

Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival - September 16/17, 2017

BARC attended the Harwich Cranberry Arts & Music Festival for the first time this year! So far it was an interesting event with a lot of public participation. One day one we made over 200 contacts and should do close to that on day two also.

Skid, W1TTY- SK

It is with sadness we note the death of Horace "Skid" Schermerhorn W1TTY.Sid was a member of BARC as well as FERA and Cape Cod and Islands Amateur Radio Asoc. SKID passed away on June 23, 2017.

Meeting

the August meeting will be on August 7, 7 pm at the Dennis PD

Jim, WA1KCC - SK

It is great sadness that we report the passing of a long time BARC member Kenneth Bradbury Jr (aka. Jim Bradbury) WA1KCC.  Jim passed away yesterday afternoon at his Hyannis home with his family by his side.

Meeting

the June meeting is June 5 at the Dennis Police Station. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM.Presentatio on DMR use.

Repeater Down for Maintenance

The 146.955 repeater will be off the air until Sunday afternoon May 7 2017. 

Some of the power cabling and RF interconnects are being replaced and require off-site work with existing parts. 

The Controller will be changed and some settings changed to improve the analog audio.

Rocky Mountain Ham Radio, New Mexico is pleased to announce the 2021 New Mexico TechFest, an ARRL-sanctioned operating specialty event, on Saturday February 27, 2021.

Long Island Virtual Hamfest

Presented by Diane Warner, KE8HLDThis is a story about Tallmadge Elementary School's participation in a once-in-a-lifetime ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) school contact. You'll learn about their amazing journey leading up to the amateur radio contact with an astronaut on the International Space Station. The excitement of the entire experience was shared not just by the students, but included faculty, parents, community, and local amateur radio operators.
